An Israeli military force comprising five vehicles entered the Wadi al-Raqad area in western Daraa countryside on Wednesday morning, 14 October 2026, raiding a house and detaining people inside it, while firing towards farmland in the area, according to local sources.

Detaining the house’s residents and seizing a motorbike

The sources said that three vehicles from the force entered a house where a civilian family had lived for years in the valley, and detained its residents in one of the rooms for about an hour. The force also restrained several young men present in the house during the search before seizing a motorbike from inside. Other local sources said the force ordered the homeowner to vacate the property, then took the motorbike towards the Golan.

Reports did not indicate that the young men were taken away, as the force left the house after completing the search and temporary detention operation. At the same time, the two remaining vehicles took Abu Omar Road in Wadi al-Raqad and fired towards farmland and unoccupied land.

Members of the force also set up temporary observation posts to secure the three vehicles conducting the search inside the house. After the operation ended, the five vehicles regrouped and withdrew towards Abu al-Ghaithar Hill, west of Wadi al-Raqad opposite the village of Jamla. The field movements coincided with Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flying over parts of western Daraa countryside, according to local reports.

The Wadi al-Raqad area had witnessed two separate incursions by Israeli forces on 12 October. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a force comprising two vehicles entered the area and fired heavy weapons towards vacant farmland before withdrawing. A second force comprising four vehicles entered the area later and fired towards farmland.
