On Tuesday, 13 October 2026, the leadership of the Joint Forces of the Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen asked civilians to evacuate the Yemeni Oil Company site at the central Al-Sabahah station in Sana'a, ahead of what it described as a specialised operation.
Evacuation site identified at Al-Sabahah station
The coalition's official spokesperson, Major General Turki al-Malki, said the evacuation request covered the site identified on the explanatory map published by the coalition leadership, explaining that the warning was issued to protect civilians. Before issuing the warning, al-Malki had announced that the coalition would ask civilians to evacuate a site in Sana'a to carry out a specialised operation, before subsequently identifying the Yemeni Oil Company site and the central Al-Sabahah station.
The warning came as al-Malki announced that three drones had been intercepted and destroyed north of Riyadh. Coalition forces had announced on Monday that they had intercepted two ballistic missiles which they said the Houthi group had launched towards Khamis Mushait, in addition to intercepting another ballistic missile heading towards Riyadh.
In response to the warning, the military spokesperson for the Houthi Ansar Allah group said that any strike in Sana'a would be met with what he described as a “harsh and painful” response in Riyadh, without providing further details about the nature of the possible response. In its warning to civilians, the coalition leadership did not announce when the specialised operation would begin or its scope; its statement was limited to identifying the site to be evacuated and calling on people to stay away from it for their safety.
