Areas of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem saw settlers burn a mosque and a vehicle and attack olive pickers on Wednesday, alongside raids by Israeli forces that resulted in arrests and the demolition of a house, as well as the surrounding of a house in the town of Tammun. Settlers burned a mosque and a vehicle in the village of Mukhmas, east of Ramallah.

Settler attacks on olive pickers

In the town of Beita, south of Nablus, a 17-year-old child and another resident suffered injuries and bruising after being severely beaten in the Jabal Qammas area, amid escalating attacks on farmers during the olive harvest season. In Turmusayya, north of Ramallah, settlers tried to prevent residents from picking olives and carried out acts of disorder before residents confronted them.

The Palestinian News Agency reported that Israeli forces detained a resident east of Ramallah, seized his vehicle and stole the olives he had picked. In Jenin governorate, Israeli forces fired tear gas at olive pickers in the towns of al-Fandaqumiya, Jaba and Silat al-Dhahr, forcing them to leave their land despite prior coordination.

Land levelled and house demolished in Hebron

Settlers also attacked farmers in the town of Yabad, assaulted them, stole their produce and forcibly expelled them. In Nablus governorate, settlers accompanied by heavy machinery levelled land in the towns of Beit Dajan and Burin to open roads and establish a new settlement outpost. In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, Israeli forces used bulldozers to demolish a house belonging to the Shtat family in Khirbet al-Ghaziwa.

The Israeli army carried out raids in several areas, with special forces infiltrating the town of Tammun in Tubas and surrounding a house amid intensive flights by reconnaissance aircraft. In Nablus, military vehicles entered through the Surra checkpoint and raided several neighbourhoods, arresting four residents and causing damage to homes.

The raids also targeted two young men in Tulkarm, while the contents of homes in Izzbat Shufa were damaged, and three residents in Qalqilya, including a former prisoner, were arrested. Three residents were also arrested in Hebron, including an unidentified girl, as residents were subjected to mistreatment at military checkpoints. The raids included the towns of Deir Dibwan, Burqa, Turmusayya and Qibya in Ramallah governorate, where residents were subjected to field interrogations.

The campaign extended to occupied Jerusalem, with a raid on the al-Bustan neighbourhood in Silwan and the arrest of a child after his home was raided in the village of al-Isawiya.
