A Yemeni military source said at dawn on Sunday, 11 October 2026, that the armed forces had identified several Houthi targets in Taiz governorate ahead of carrying out strikes against them as part of ongoing military operations in the governorate. The source said the target list included positions linked to Houthi movements, as well as supply routes in the eastern and western countryside of Taiz, noting that the routes had been included in what he described as “kill boxes” designated to target the group’s movements and reinforcements.

Plan to target supply routes and Houthi positions

He added that warplanes would launch an operation aimed at cutting supply lines and striking Houthi military positions in Taiz. According to the source, the plan focuses on disrupting the movement of reinforcements and military supplies between the group’s positions in the east and west of the governorate.

The announcement followed air strikes on the Taiz frontlines on Saturday evening. A field military source said warplanes had targeted Houthi positions and reinforcements in the areas of Hadhran and Al-Rubaie west of Taiz city, as well as gatherings and military equipment in the Al-Jund area east of the city. The field source said the strikes hit reinforcements and vehicles heading to the frontlines, while the raids also extended to targets in Jabal Habashi district in the Taiz countryside and Jabal Sabran, overlooking Al-Turbah city in the south of the governorate.

The information about the results of the strikes was attributed to the military source, with no independent official toll announced. On 1 October, Yemeni armed forces spokesperson Colonel Majid Al-Nazili had announced that 27 air strikes had been carried out across the Taiz frontlines.

He said the strikes targeted a missile warehouse, command and control centres, supply and weapons points, gatherings, and Houthi vehicles and military equipment. Al-Nazili identified the locations of the previous strikes as Al-Siteen Street, Bani Omar, the Hamir front in Maqbanah district and east of Al-Wazi'iyah, as well as Al-Ahkum and Al-Athawir in Hayfan district, Al-Kadha, Jabal Nu'man, Al-Kuraifat, Aqabat Munif, Al-Tashrifat, Al-Aqroud, Sama, and Al-Shaqab in Saber Al-Mawadim district.

Operations focus on Taiz countryside routes

The latest operations are focused on roads and military routes in the Taiz countryside, as government forces seek to target the supply network used by the Houthis to move fighters, munitions and equipment between their positions and the frontlines inside the governorate.
