The Taiz Axis Media Centre announced on Monday, 5 October 2026, that about 100 Houthi group members had been killed and 150 others wounded in five offensive operations carried out by Axis forces, backed by the popular resistance, on several fronts in Taiz governorate as part of Operation Yemen Dawn.
Five attacks and announced battlefield losses
In a briefing on developments over the past 24 hours, the centre said the operations covered the Al Arbaeen front north of Taiz city, Al Aqrood to the south, Al Anin and Jabal Habashi to the west, as well as the Al Bayreen area on the outskirts of the Al Kahdah front. It added that Taiz Axis forces had brought down five drones belonging to the Houthi group during the operations and had destroyed or disabled six vehicles and a tank.
It said the forces had moved to carry out attacks on several fronts amid continuing military operations in contact areas. On the Al Aqrood front, the centre reported that the forces attacked group positions on Monday afternoon and managed to drive their members out of several of them. It said a tank and a military vehicle had been destroyed and a military vehicle seized, while a number of Houthi members were killed or wounded.
Hit-and-run attacks on the Al Anin and Jabal Habashi fronts
On the Al Anin front in Jabal Habashi district, the forces carried out a hit-and-run attack on group positions, and the centre said the operation caused human and material losses among its ranks. Axis forces also carried out a series of attacks in other contact areas on the Jabal Habashi fronts, announcing advances at some positions and the flight of a number of group members.
In the Al Bayreen area on the Al Kahdah front, the centre said the forces targeted Houthi gatherings and equipment, setting a military vehicle ablaze, killing several members and capturing others. According to the briefing, the other fronts of the Taiz Axis saw intermittent clashes and artillery fire targeting the group’s gatherings, vehicles and weapons.
The targeted sites included gatherings at the Sana'a checkpoint east of the city, two military vehicles at Al Tabba Al Sawda on the Al Dhabab front and the western front, and a tank in the Saftil area north-east of Taiz.
