Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, attended a meeting of the Advanced Technology Research Council in Abu Dhabi, where he reviewed the latest capabilities of Tactica AI, a company specialising in decision intelligence, and its advanced solutions for deploying agentic artificial intelligence to support decision-making and enhance preparedness and foresight in vital sectors.
His attendance formed part of efforts to monitor the development of advanced technological capabilities and harness them to serve the country's strategic priorities, helping to improve institutional efficiency and strengthen the ability to respond to change.
UAE strengthens position in artificial intelligence
It also reflects the UAE's drive to consolidate its position as a global centre for developing artificial intelligence and turn its potential into practical solutions that support security, development and future-building. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said the UAE was continuing to build an advanced artificial intelligence ecosystem based on investment in research and innovation, capability development and linking these elements to the needs of strategic sectors.
He said achieving leadership in this field required moving beyond simply analysing events to anticipating change and supporting decision-making at the right time. He said the UAE viewed artificial intelligence as more than a future technology: it represented a strategic capability that strengthened present preparedness and opened up opportunities for tomorrow.
He added that the country was continuing to invest in systems with greater capacity for understanding, foresight and decision-making, strengthening its position among countries that use advanced technology to serve people, improve the efficiency of vital sectors and enhance the security of communities.
He explained that the next phase of artificial intelligence would go beyond providing information towards developing systems capable of understanding reality, anticipating possibilities and supporting decisions at the appropriate time. He stressed that the aim was for the UAE to be among the leading countries developing these capabilities and to turn them into practical applications that help build a future characterised by higher levels of preparedness and resilience.
Government and research leaders attend meeting
The meeting was attended by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Adviser to the President on Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs and Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council; Shihab Abu Shihab, Director-General of the council; and Major General Khalifa Al Hammadi, Director of the Minister of Defence's Office.
Dr Shouqi Qasimi, co-founder of Tactica AI and Chief Innovation Officer at the Technology Innovation Institute, also attended, along with a number of senior officials.
Tactica presents solutions to support decision-makers
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed listened to a presentation on solutions developed by Tactica using deep-technology capabilities developed by the Technology Innovation Institute, and the capabilities these solutions provide to decision-makers. The presentation said the company's solutions could integrate and analyse data from multiple sources to create a comprehensive operational picture that is updated instantly.
This mechanism enables a shift from analysing information alone to developing a deeper understanding of the situation, anticipating potential developments and identifying the most appropriate response options at the right time. The presentation addressed applications of these capabilities in defence, security, crisis management and urban operations, and their role in strengthening coordination and improving response efficiency.
The solutions convert streaming data into practical insights and recommendations that support operational and strategic decisions, particularly in environments where events are unfolding rapidly and the time available for decision-making is limited. The meeting reflects the UAE's focus on strengthening integration between scientific research, innovation and application, and building advanced technological capabilities that support national priorities and global competitiveness.
This is aligned with the objectives of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 through the development of solutions that improve the efficiency of government work and vital sectors, enhance the use of technology to serve people and build institutions better prepared to anticipate the future.
