Hack of Denmark’s national register affects data of 8.8 million people
Denmark’s Ministry of Digital Affairs said hackers accessed the names, addresses and identification numbers of about 8.8 million people in the national register. The government revoked a private company’s authorisation after its legitimate access to the system was misused, while police investigate the incident and a comprehensive security review is under way.
